eweb's 0845 Dialup service provides Internet Access for the cost of a local telephone call. Your computer is connected via modem or ISDN line which gives you a reliable and high speed access to the world wide web. There is no hidden costs. All connections to the internet will show up on your telephone bill. you will only be charged by your telephone provider and charged for a locall call only. Ask you telephone provider the charges for dialing a 0845 number.

eweb's connection instructions

It is possible to use a pay-as-you-go Internet connection without signing up. Simply configure a Dial-Up Networking account to use the appropiate telephone number below. The username and password can be anything you like.

Modems up to 56kbit/s (most users)	0845 0963 670

The dial-up connection will not work if your number is withheld. If your telephone number is automatically withheld, simply prefix the dial-up number with 1470. For example: To use a normal modem connections, enter 1470 0845 0963 670.

Incoming eMail is not provided with the dial-up only facility. However, eMail can be sent using eweb's SMTP server: mail.eweb.co.uk

Follow the applicable steps below to configure your PC.

Windows 95, 98 or ME:

1. Click on 'My Computer' and select 'Dial-up Networking'
2. Click 'Make New Connection'
3. Type 'Action Connection' and click 'Next'
4. Enter 0845 0963 670 in the telephone number field and click 'Next'
5. You are now ready to connect to the Internet.

Windows XP:

1. On your Desktop right click 'My Network Places' and select 'Properties'
2. Click 'Create a New Connection' and click 'Next'
3. From the four options select 'Connect to the Internet' and click 'Next'
4. In the next box select 'Set up my connection manually' and click 'Next'
5. From the three options select 'Connect using a dial-up modem' and click 'Next'
6. Enter the ISP name as 'Action Connection' and click 'Next'
7. Enter the phone number 0845 0693 670 and click 'Next'
8. Enter your username as 'action' and your password as 'action' and tick all three boxes, click 'Next'.
9. You are now ready to connect to the Internet.
